As the firm continues its national expansion, we are seeking a Manager of Business Development to drive new client acquisition, cultivate strategic partnerships, and expand relationships with CPA firms, private equity firms, attorneys, and corporate leadership teams.

Position Overview
The Manager of Business Development will be responsible for generating new business opportunities by developing relationships with CFOs, Controllers, Tax Directors, CEOs, business owners, and referral partners. This individual will introduce clients to the firm's full suite of advisory solutions, partnering closely with subject matter experts to deliver customized consulting engagements that address each client's unique needs. Success in this role requires a consultative sales approach, exceptional relationship-building skills, and the ability to uncover opportunities across multiple service lines.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Develop and execute strategic business development plans to drive revenue growth.
- Identify and pursue new client opportunities across Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Technology, Manufacturing, Engineering, and other innovation-driven industries.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline through networking, referrals, conferences, industry events, and targeted outreach.
- Conduct executive-level meetings with CFOs, Controllers, Tax Directors, CEOs, and business owners.
- Understand client challenges and align the firm's advisory capabilities with their business objectives.
- Manage opportunities throughout the entire sales cycle, from prospecting through engagement execution.
Strategic Partnership Development
- Build and strengthen relationships with regional and national CPA firms, law firms, private equity firms, and other strategic referral partners.
- Position the firm as a trusted advisory resource that complements existing client relationships.
- Conduct presentations, educational sessions, and thought leadership events for referral partners.
- Develop long-term partnerships that generate recurring business opportunities.
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary business development contact throughout the sales process.
- Collaborate with technical and consulting teams to deliver a seamless client experience.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships across multiple advisory service lines.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients and referral partners to foster long-term relationships.
Collaboration & Market Development
- Partner with practice leaders to identify new business opportunities and cross-selling initiatives.
- Stay informed on market trends, regulatory developments, and industry challenges affecting target clients.
- Represent the firm at conferences, trade associations, networking events, and professional organizations.
- Work closely with Marketing on campaigns, webinars, client events, and business development initiatives.
- Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM reporting.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, or a related discipline preferred.
- 5+ years of successful business development or consultative sales experience within professional services.
- Demonstrated success selling advisory, consulting, tax, accounting, financial, or other complex professional services.
- Experience developing executive-level relationships with CFOs, Controllers, Tax Directors, Partners, business owners, and C-suite executives.
- Proven ability to build strategic referral partnerships with CPA firms, attorneys, private equity firms, or other professional service organizations.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
- Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or Microsoft Dynamics preferred.
