Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic leader to join our property management company as the Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). In this senior leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing the FP&A function, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and performance analysis. You will work closely with the executive team to drive financial strategy, support decision-making, and optimize financial performance across our property portfolio. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Strategy Development: Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company’s business objectives and growth plans, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting: Oversee the annual budgeting process, long-term financial planning, and rolling forecasts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business goals and market conditions.
  3. Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain complex financial models to support strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and property acquisitions/dispositions, including scenario analysis and sensitivity testing.
  4. Performance Analysis: Conduct comprehensive financial analysis of property performance, identifying key trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, and provide actionable insights to operational teams.
  5. Reporting and Presentation: Prepare and present financial reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to the executive team, board of directors, and other stakeholders, ensuring clarity and transparency of financial information.
  6. Capital Planning: Manage capital allocation processes, including evaluation of capital expenditures, return on investment analysis, and funding strategies, to support the company’s growth and profitability objectives.
  7. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing FP&A team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
  8. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, including property management, operations, and asset management, to support business initiatives, optimize financial performance, and drive strategic projects.
  9. Risk Management: Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, internal policies, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of X years of experience in FP&A, finance, or related roles, with significant experience in the property management or real estate industry.
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis principles.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and advanced Excel skills; experience with financial planning software (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Hyperion) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders and senior management.
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with capital planning, investment analysis, and performance metrics in a property management context.
