Tax Manager:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the main point of contact and subject matter expert for all tax-related items
- Lead the effort of insourcing federal and state compliance filings, while coordinating review process with an outside firm
- Calculate and make quarterly estimated tax payments, as required
- Responsible for the insourcing of our annual provision for income tax analysis
- Prepare tax account journal entries and reconciliations and work with the Corporate Controller to ensure US GAAP compliance
- Handle quarterly state sales tax filings
- Evaluate and potentially insource our quarterly and annual payroll tax filings
- Handle county/local property tax filings at various locations
- Handle other local registrations as required, such as state annual business license registrations
- Evaluate and perform 1042 filings
- Pursue tax credits, such as for investments, R&D
- Stay up to date on tax matters at the federal, state and local level; weigh in on the tax impact of various business decisions we are contemplating
- Perform detailed Nexus Analysis and support Transfer Pricing projects with global tax office
- Research and consult on technical matters and special projects
- Liaise with our Australian global tax office
- Partner with the Corporate Controller and take on tasks as part of month end as time permits
- Support the Vendor maintenance process
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- BA or BS degree is required; Masters in Tax is preferred
- CPA License Required
- 5+ years of experience in accounting
- Strong understanding of accounting concepts, US GAAP and applications
- Strong technical tax knowledge, research capabilities, analytical and qualitative skills, including the ability to conceptualize and think creatively
- Track record of success in delivering high quality work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
