Job Title: Accounting Advisory Senior
Overview: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Accounting Advisory Senior with a strong background in Big 4 public accounting to join our team. You will lead client engagements, manage project teams, and serve as a trusted advisor to senior management. Key Responsibilities:
- Client Advisory Services:
- Provide technical accounting advice and support to clients on a wide range of accounting issues, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, financial instruments, business combinations, and consolidation.
- Assist clients with the implementation of new accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606, ASC 842) and ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant regulations.
- Offer guidance on complex financial reporting matters, including the preparation and review of financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures.
- Project Management:
- Lead and manage multiple client engagements, ensuring the delivery of high-quality work within agreed timelines and budgets.
- Coordinate with client management and internal teams to plan and execute projects, including accounting policy assessments, internal control evaluations, and financial statement restatements.
- Identify and address project risks, issues, and challenges, ensuring successful project outcomes and client satisfaction.
- Technical Expertise:
- Stay abreast of the latest accounting standards, regulatory changes, and industry trends, providing clients with up-to-date insights and recommendations.
- Conduct technical research on complex accounting issues and prepare memos, whitepapers, and presentations to support client decision-making.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on accounting and financial reporting topics, contributing to the firm’s thought leadership initiatives.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for accounting and financial reporting matters.
- Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and cross-sell the firm’s services, contributing to business development efforts.
- Ensure client satisfaction by delivering exceptional service and addressing client needs proactively.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of junior staff and consultants, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
- Oversee the work of team members, ensuring the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of deliverables.
- Business Development:
- Participate in the development and execution of the firm’s accounting advisory strategy, including identifying target markets, developing service offerings, and building client relationships.
- Support proposal development, client pitches, and other business development activities to attract new clients and expand the firm’s advisory practice.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting or accounting advisory services, with significant experience at a Big 4 firm.
- Deep technical knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and SEC reporting requirements.
- Proven experience in managing complex accounting projects and leading client engagements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply complex accounting standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships and communicate complex technical issues to non-technical audiences.
- Leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and develop junior staff and manage project teams.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with accounting research tools (e.g., Checkpoint, CCH) is a plus.
